The Professional Soil Scientists Association of California met April 19-22, 2007 on Catalina Island. The general theme of the meeting was to expose the participants to the unique soils, landforms, geology, agriculture, land use practices, archaeology, and history on Catalina Island. Cooperating agencies were the USDA/Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Catalina Island Conservancy, and the University of Southern California Wrigley Marine Science Center. Two passenger coaches with a total capacity of 45 seats were available for this unique annual meeting. The meeting began in Avalon with a technical session and continued with a field tour the afternoon of Friday, April 20, and Saturday, April 21, 2007.
